Bio:
Karen Kelly began her journalism career writing obituaries for "The Ogdensburg Journal" in Ogdensburg, New York. From there, she dabbled in the sports arena, wrote about school board meetings and freelanced for a magazine that went bankrupt. After graduating from the Carleton University School of Journalism in Ottawa, Ontario, Karen became a reporter at WAMC Public Radio in Albany, New York. For seven years, she covered issues related to education, women, and health and became the producer of "The Best of Our Knowledge", a nationally syndicated program about education. Now a full-time freelancer, Karen is working in both print and radio and is enjoying the view of her backyard.
