Bio:
Tamara Keith is a Washington, DC based freelance reporter. Her work can be heard on NPR, Marketplace and The Environment Report.She started her career in public radio before she was old enough to drive. 6 cars and hundreds of thousands of miles later, she has worked for KQED, KPCC, WOSU and a variety of national media outlets. As a teenager, Tamara was a regular essayist for NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including a first place trophy from the Society of Environmental Journalists for "Outstanding Story Radio." She is no stranger to disasters, covering destructive wildfires in California and most recently the coal ash spill in Tennessee.
In her spare time, Tamara is the host and senior producer of the public radio podcast B-Side Radio. She's also a recreational triathlete and half marathon runner. Her husband is a cancer researcher and veterinarian.
